Overview
Territory Manager – San Antonio at International Drilling Equipment (IDE). IDE provides high-quality foundation equipment and drill rigs, backed up by client education and ongoing equipment servicing. IDE is a growing, family-owned business focused on attracting and retaining the best people in the foundation drilling industry.
Primary job responsibilities- Generating new sales and revenue by researching untapped market sectors.
- Manage and maintain existing customer relations through constant contact and communication.
- Qualifying prospects, handling minor grievances, helping collect payments, and acting as liaison to the parts and service department for clients.
- Monitor and be cost-conscious of travel expenses for the region.
- Participate in trade shows and conferences.
- Maintain a log of activity, call reporting system and/or CRM for the assigned region.
- Learn and increase product knowledge through job site visits, IDE training opportunities, and traveling with other IDE personnel.
- Offer and represent all IDE product lines in the assigned region.
- Develop a traveling agenda that allows personal interaction with each client at least once per quarter.
- Ensure timely compliance with management-requested information; help develop a sales forecast and status of offers/deals tracking database.
- Follow all IDE policies and procedures.
- Participate in Sales Development seminars at least once a year.
- Obtain new sales leads and opportunities.
- Provide and market information on IDE services and product lines.
- Introduce new innovations to clients.
- Help provide solutions based on IDE resources that can be supplied to clients.
- Research and make cold calls to new prospects.
- Follow up on leads.
- Close deals.
- Understand and address client needs and challenges.
- Research clients’ current equipment and tooling status.
- Visit job sites.
- Take notes and ask questions during travels with IDE personnel or conference calls.
- Attend training sessions, be prepared, and be attentive.
- Research answers before asking questions.
The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, self-motivated, take initiative, a leader of people, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to customers, suppliers, department employees, coworkers, and manufacturers’ employees.
Education/Training/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of sales experience in a similar industry.
Skills- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relations.
- Good computer and systems knowledge including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple customer data, priorities, and develop relationships with internal, potential, and external customers as well as manufacturers’ representatives.
- Attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication.
- Basic understanding of recordkeeping and filing systems.
- Ability to work independently.
- Use of hands, fingers and wrists frequently.
- Daily work behind an office desk with computer and telephone use.
- Onsite client visits may require physically inspecting job sites to determine client needs.
- May need to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Office environment with frequent travel, exposure to weather and elements at client sites; remote work and travel may be required.
IDE offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees. Eligibility to enroll after 90 days of employment. This package includes health/vision/dental insurance, 401K with matching, and paid company holidays and PTO/sick time. More information will be provided in the offer letter.
