Automotive Technical Account Manager

This role sits at the intersection of technical consultancy and strategic account management
, selling engineered, specification-led solutions into automotive OEM and Tier 1/2 environments. Long sales cycles. High validation standards. Senior stakeholders only.

The RoleYou will own and grow a defined portfolio of automotive OEM and Tier 1/2 accounts
, while driving new business across the automotive and EV sector. You are expected to operate independently, manage complex stakeholders, and materially impact revenue and product strategy.
- Own and expand a UK-wide portfolio of automotive OEM and Tier 1/2 accounts
- Identify, qualify, and close new business within automotive and EV markets
- Execute structured account and territory plans aligned to revenue targets
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to contract close
- Act as a technical advisor on engineered sealing solutions and materials
- Support customers through design-in, validation, testing, and ramp-up
- Deliver technical presentations to engineering and procurement teams
- Conduct regular on-site visits to uncover growth opportunities
- Track market trends, competitors, and customer feedback
- Feed structured insight into product development and portfolio planning
- Maintain accurate CRM, forecasting, and pipeline reporting
- Proven technical sales experience within automotive or engineered products
- Strong exposure to specification-led sales with long decision cycles
- Experience selling into OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers
- Technically credible with engineers and commercially sharp with buyers
- Structured, disciplined, and accountable for results
- Comfortable working autonomously in a home-based role
- HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrable success in consultative or technical sales
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
