Location: Westminster – 1 day per week work from home

This stunning Edwardian building, known for its iconic four-domed architecture, offers exceptional facilities for conferences, meetings, gala dinners, receptions, and weddings. It also serves as the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers — a globally respected body dedicated to promoting innovation, knowledge exchange, and excellence in civil engineering.

The Role:

We are looking for a proactive, customer‑centric Revenue & Sales Executive to join our Sales & Events team. If you are passionate about hospitality, love building client relationships, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Our Revenue & Sales team are at the forefront of driving venue sales and maximising revenue. They respond to enquiries, convert provisional bookings, manage room allocations, and work closely with internal teams to ensure the seamless delivery of high‑quality events.

The team also support wider business development activities, helping to maintain our competitive edge in the marketplace, and play a key role in ensuring our diary and systems are accurate, organised, and optimised for revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to all client enquiries, sending quotations and brochures within 24 hours.
  • Convert provisional bookings and actively secure contracted revenue.
  • Conduct venue show‑rounds to prospective clients.
  • Liaise with clients to gather requirements and allocate the most suitable rooms to maximise revenue.
  • Ensure internal bookings are optimally placed without impacting yield.
  • Evaluate event bookings and diary usage to maximise yield.
  • Maintain excellent communication with event coordinators and operational teams for seamless handovers.
  • Keep client and booking information fully up to date in the computerised diary system.
  • Monitor competitor activity to maintain our market-leading position.
  • Support the Business Development Manager with exhibitions, familiarisation trips, and sales campaigns.
  • Progress bookings from enquiry through to confirmation.
  • Review the diary daily and follow up provisional bookings.

About You:

  • Strong background in conference, banqueting, hotel, or venue administration (e.g., Sales/Conference Coordinator).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Confident MS Word, Excel and Outlook user.
  • Experience using a computerised diary system.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Comfortable using initiative and working flexibly in a changing environment.
  • Experience in operational roles within a hotel or venue setting.
  • Brilliant customer focus and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and confident but appropriate assertiveness.
  • Team‑orientated with excellent relationship‑building skills.
  • Able to generate ideas, improve processes and influence client satisfaction.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to re‑prioritise in a dynamic environment.
