About the Role
As a Business Development Associate, you will support the BD team to grow Midsummer's customer base and help existing customers maximize the value of our solutions. You will maintain strong relationships, onboard new accounts, re‑engage dormant accounts, and support general business development activities across the company.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to new customer registrations, usually via phone.
- Re‑engage past or inactive accounts.
- Gather customer information and identify opportunities for Midsummer.
- Respond to enquiries and assist with quotations and product suggestions.
- Learn about the product range and support the wider sales team.
- Update internal CRM systems and track outreach activity.
- Assist with customer training, exhibition events, or marketing campaigns.
- Within 6 months, take ownership of assigned accounts to onboard, grow, and hand over to the sales team.
- Oversee a particular product or sector if assigned.
- Goal‑oriented and enjoys hitting targets.
- Naturally competitive.
- Personable and able to build rapport with a variety of people.
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Excited about the renewable‑energy industry.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Enthusiasm, strong communication, and willingness to learn; technical background not required.
Midsummer Energy specialises in solar PV systems, distributing complete PV kits, heat pumps, off‑grid solar setups, and industry‑leading tools such as Easy PV and Heatpunk. The company has grown from a narrow boat storeroom to multiple warehouses in Cambridge, Glasgow and Dublin.
