Technical Sales Manager - Refurbishment (London Area)
Position: Full-time, permanent
Hours of work: 37.5 hours / week
Place of work: Designated home worker
Travel: Frequent travel, plus attendance at Axter’s office in Ipswich when required

The Role
The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for meeting and exceeding the sales and profitability targets within the region. By developing sales strategies and detailed plans, and by evaluating customer needs and providing technical expertise to our customer base, the Technical Sales Manager will drive new business sales whilst managing individual project demands and meeting customer expectations. We are looking for someone eager to take on a new challenge and join our collaborative team to help enhance region’s sales.

- Develop and implement strategies to expand the customer base in the designated area and ensure a strong presence to enable sales and profitability targets to be met.
- Prepare sales forecasts to meet profitability targets as laid out in the strategic plan.
- Monitor and report sales activity and performance against sales targets with an emphasis on delivering profitability and agreed KPIs.
- Partner effectively with customers and understand their needs to secure strong relationships and future sales.
- Communicate effectively and visit key account stakeholders regularly to maintain relationships
- Provide technical support and advice to customers to ensure customers are satisfied and understand our systems
- Continually to develop knowledge of our systems and services to ensure customer requirements are accurately met.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with other departments to ensure a timely and accurate service which meets customer expectations.
- Research new markets and identify potential customers to increase new business opportunities and revenue.
- Actively participate in trade shows and exhibitions to target customers in line with the strategic plan and ensure sales opportunities are maximised.
- Share feedback on product, customer, competitor and market activities internally to support the continuous improvement of our performance.
Qualifications Skills and Attributes
- 1+ years experience in a fast‑paced technical sales role
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Good understanding of the sales cycle
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Able to present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels
- Able to work independently and as part of a team demonstrating effective peer to peer communication
- Excellent coaching and people development skills
- A positive, professional and can‑do attitude
- Commitment to continuous personal development
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to think outside the box
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Proficient with MS Office, CRM, and other relevant software
- Valid licence to drive in the UK
- Preferable: 1-2 years of flat roofing experience.
