Key Partnerships Business Development Manager – Centrica Business Solutions
Join Centrica Business Solutions, a part of Centrica plc, where we partner with organizations worldwide to build and operate large‑scale energy assets. This role focuses on developing and managing relationships with key third‑party intermediaries (TPIs) to drive growth and retention for the British Gas brand.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow a portfolio of key partners to exceed new business and retention performance targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships at senior management and director levels within partner organisations.
- Increase pipeline visibility and close rates through strategic engagement with flagship TPIs, following the Broker Strategy and segmentation guidelines.
- Prepare and update Broker Insight Documents that identify partner needs, growth opportunities, and partnership improvements.
- Share brokerage strategy on pricing, partnerships, and service aspirations with partners.
- Ensure energy supply portfolios are managed to the highest standards, including case management, SLAs, onboarding, and lifetime value insights.
- Provide innovative solutions that leverage Centrica’s capacity to maximise value for customers and enhance the attractiveness of the British Gas brand.
- Deliver accurate activity reports, pipelines, forecasts, and account plans during face‑to‑face meetings with partners.
- Provide competitor and market intelligence to influence strategic and tactical positioning of the TPI channel.
- Adhere to CBS/Centrica governance, training, regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements while identifying and escalating operational and regulatory risks.
- Proven business development experience with a track record of building high‑value partner relationships.
- Deep knowledge of managing large‑value customer and third‑party relationships.
- Current understanding of the energy market and a sound commercial awareness of energy products and services, including broker‑related solutions.
- Target‑driven with a history of exceeding ambitious sales targets.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present and negotiate with senior management both externally and internally.
- Self‑motivated, able to work from home with regular travel to partner and customer sites.
- Strong teamwork skills, coordinating across multiple internal teams throughout the sales cycle.
- Networking ability to represent the sales & key partnership channel across Centrica.
- Solid IT skills for manipulating data into actionable insights.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to partners, customers, and Centrica offices.
