Job Description

The CRM & Direct Sales Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the customer relationship management and direct sales teams. The role focuses on managing and motivating team members to achieve sales targets, enhance customer engagement, and deliver excellent service through effective use of CRM systems and direct sales strategies. The position requires close collaboration with other departments to ensure alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement of sales processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise and develop the CRM and direct sales teams to meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators.
Plan and implement sales campaigns and customer engagement initiatives using CRM tools to maximise revenue and customer retention.
Monitor team performance, analyse sales data and customer feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Provide coaching, training and support to team members to enhance skills and deliver consistent, high-quality customer interactions.
Collaborate with marketing, product and customer service teams to ensure integrated sales and customer management strategies.
Manage the recruitment, onboarding and performance appraisals of team members within the CRM and direct sales functions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection regulations and relevant industry standards in all sales activities.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on sales performance, customer insights and team development.
Drive continuous process improvement and adoption of best practises within the CRM and direct sales teams.
Manage budgets related to team activities, resources and tools effectively.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in leading teams, preferably within CRM and direct sales environments.
Strong understanding of customer relationship management systems and sales software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrable ability to motivate and develop team members.
Proficiency in analysing sales data and generating actionable insights.
Sound knowledge of sales techniques, customer engagement strategies and market dynamics.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong organisational and time management skills.

Education

A relevant qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing or a related discipline is preferred.
Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.

Experience

At least three years’ experience in a sales leadership role, managing teams in a CRM and direct sales context.

Experience of working within a fast-paced sales environment with clear targets and deadlines.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales objectives.

Knowledge and Skills

In-depth knowledge of CRM platforms and direct sales methodologies.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence others.
Excellent analytical skills to interpret sales data and customer behaviour.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

Formal sales management or leadership certification.
Experience in the sales sector relevant to the organisation’s products or services.
Familiarity with data protection legislation and compliance requirements.

Working Conditions

Based in South East England with primary working location in Berkshire, Sleugh.
Hybrid working arrangement combining office and remote work.
Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday.
Occasional requirement to work extended hours to meet deadlines or attend events
