Job Description & How to Apply Below

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

We are growing and expanding our team with a relationship-oriented and strategically minded Business Development Manager. In this role, you will drive the development of our fluid handling and heat exchanger business within the pharmaceutical industry. Examples of our products are pumps, valves, mixers, and heat exchangers - products where quality and performance are critical to our customers’ success.

In this role, you will focus on understanding customers’ needs and challenges, providing optimized solutions, and collaborating with customers and key influencers on specification work. Building strong networks and relationships - both internally and externally - is central to the position. You will work closely with pharmaceutical companies, system builders, and distributors within the pharmaceutical industry.

Your main tasks will include but are not restricted to:

  • Provide support to our sales team throughout the sales process.

  • Coordinate projects execution across sales regions.

  • Deliver optimized solutions to customers by leveraging strong application expertise

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term business strategies.

  • Participate in joint customer visits and conduct seminars for new and existing customers.

  • Assist in the creation of sales and promotional materials

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their workday, embraces continuous learning, and stays up to date with industry and market trends! As part of a dedicated team of seven, you will be one of two business developers driving our global pharmaceutical business.

We believe you will thrive in our truly diverse and inclusive workplace, built on care and empowerment. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference—constantly building bridges to the future with sustainable solutions that address some of the planet’s most urgent challenges. Together, we’re making the world a better place—every day.

You report to Per-Åke Olsson, an informal manager not into micromanagement but instead help you grow and let you be part of creating your own career path with us in Alfa Laval.

Who are you

To succeed in this role, you bring a genuine passion for understanding our customers’ needs and challenges, along with a strong technical interest. You excel at building lasting relationships and act as a facilitator, connecting people and business opportunities. Your colleagues value your initiative, creativity, and ability to present innovative ideas.

What you know

We believe our new colleague could come from a variety of backgrounds, but you must share our dedication to our customers and have a passion for creating an outstanding customer experience.

You have a strong understanding of processes and likely bring several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ready to take the next step into business development. Alternatively, you may be a salesperson eager to deepen your process expertise.

Requirements:

  • Background in the pharmaceutical industry and/or experience with flow or heat transfer equipment

  • Experience in sales or business development

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or commercial field

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, as this is essential in our global organization

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Kolding office in Denmark but for the right person we are open for placements also in the northern parts of Europe like Sweden, Germany,…
