Sales Development Representative - Workplace
Location:Fully remote, working from home, with occasional travel for team meetings and events. Our office hub is in Exeter.
Salary:£45,000 base salary plus 20% variable.
Contract:Permanent, full-time.
Hours:40 hours per week, with a 9-day fortnight giving you every other Friday off.

As our first Sales Development Representative for Workplace, you'll be at the front of Brain in Hand's growth with employers - creating the conversations that become qualified pipeline and helping more organisations offer meaningful, inclusive support s is a phone-first role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building from scratch and turning early interest into strong commercial opportunities. You'll work closely with the Account Executive, Commercial Director and Marketing, with the autonomy to shape a repeatable approach as we grow.
Whatyou'll be doing
- Own the top of our Workplace sales funnel as our founding SDR, creating qualified pipeline and helping build a repeatable approach to prospecting.
- Make outbound calls every day, confidently opening conversations with senior HR and benefits buyers in a phone-first role.
- Research target employers and decision makers, using personalised email and Linked In outreach to support and follow up your calls.
- Respond quickly to inbound leads, qualify opportunities well and hand them over with the context needed for a strong first meeting.
- Book qualified meetings for the Account Executive and Commercial Director, and represent Brain in Hand at employer events and exhibitions.
- Use Hub Spot to keep prospect records accurate, track activity and conversion, and give the commercial team clear visibility of pipeline.
- Share market insight with Marketing, Sales, Product and Research, and help develop sequences, talk tracks and outreach processes as we grow.
- Experience in sales development or lead generation, ideally with SaaS or technology-led solutions and/or HR or workplace buyers.
- A track record of creating opportunities through outbound activity, including daily cold calling at volume.
- Strong qualification instincts and the confidence to start conversations and engage credibly with senior buyers.
- Experience using Hub Spot or a similar CRM, with the discipline to keep records accurate and pipeline visible.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, balancing high-volume activity, research and follow-up in a fast-paced environment.
- Is self-starting and comfortable setting your own pace as a team of one.
