Internal Sales Coordinator – Electrical​/Solar; Remote, SA, Contractor

This is a part-time contractor role, 40 hours a month, paid hourly plus commission on orders you close. It is not a customer-service, call-centre or virtual-assistant job. Most of your time will be on the phone with facility managers, electricians and solar installers, chasing quotes for technical measurement equipment. If you have not sold or supported electrical, solar, metering or industrial products before, this role is not for you – please don't apply.

AmpX supplies portable energy loggers, power quality analysers and Rogowski current coils to facility managers, electricians and solar installers in South Africa and Europe. Customers include the Bundeswehr and public broadcasters in Germany, and solar installers and industrial sites across South Africa. The South African business is growing and needs someone local to run it day to day, working from written procedures and our ERP (Odoo).

You own the customer side of AmpX South Africa from first enquiry to shipped order:

• Answer enquiries by email, Whats App and phone, and log every lead in Odoo the same day
• Prepare quotes from our price list and written procedures
• Phone every open quote on day 2 and day 7 and log the outcome – this is the core of the job
• Process paid orders, raise delivery notes and book courier collections
• Coordinate stock and dispatch with our logistics partner in Gauteng
• Escalate technical questions to the founder with a short, structured brief
• Send a weekly one-page summary: enquiries, quotes sent, orders won, shipped

Everything runs on documented procedures and Odoo. You'll be trained on both. You'll also be expected to tell us when a procedure is wrong rather than work around it.

• At least 2 years selling or supporting electrical, solar, metering or industrial-supply products
• At least 2 years in internal sales or sales admin where phoning customers to follow up quotes was a daily task
• At least 12 months' daily use of an ERP or CRM (Odoo, Sage, Pastel, Xero, Hub Spot or similar)
• Fluent written and spoken English;
  Afrikaans is a real advantage with our installer base
• The ability to work alone from written procedures and follow a checklist to the end
• Your own laptop, smartphone and reliable internet with backup power for load shedding
• Availability as an independent contractor – this is not an employment position

Independent contractor, invoicing monthly. R160–R200/hour depending on experience, plus commission on orders you close, paid when the customer pays. 40 hours/month during a 60-day trial, with scope for 60–80 hours after that. Reachable on a company number Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 SAST. No office – work from wherever suits you in South Africa. Weekly 30-minute Teams call with the founder.
