Business Development Coordinator

The Client:

Our client is an established specialist contractor operating within the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sector, delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK.

This is a varied position sitting across business development, bid coordination and marketing, working closely with the Business Development Director to help identify opportunities, develop client relationships and support the continued growth of the company.

The successful candidate will ideally be based in Essex, allowing them to work closely with the Business Development Director when required. The position offers excellent flexibility and will predominantly be home-based, with occasional travel to a satellite office in London and, less frequently, the company's Head Office.

Day-to-day, you will help manage the sales pipeline and coordinate outbound business development activity, whilst also taking responsibility for the organisation and preparation of bids, tenders and proposals.

This would suit an organised and commercially minded individual with experience across business development, bids, marketing or sales coordination who is looking for a varied role with significant exposure to the wider growth strategy of a successful construction business.

• Researching and identifying prospective clients, partners and new business opportunities
• Developing and maintaining a strong sales pipeline
• Coordinating outbound business development activity including emails, calls, meetings and follow-ups
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date CRM information
• Coordinating bids and tenders from initial opportunity through to final submission
• Reviewing tender documentation and identifying key requirements and deadlines
• Producing bid plans, action trackers and submission programmes
• Liaising with internal teams to obtain technical, commercial and operational information
• Preparing, editing and formatting professional bid and proposal documentation
• Maintaining libraries of case studies, company information, CVs and supporting bid content
• Assisting with marketing campaigns and business development initiatives
• Producing presentations, brochures and capability statements
• Supporting website and social media content
• Coordinating networking events, exhibitions and client engagement activities

• Previous experience within Business Development, Bid Coordination, Marketing, Sales Support or a similar role
• Construction, fit-out or property industry experience is essential - please do not apply if you do not have some sort of exposure to the industry.
• Excellent written communication and proofreading skills
• Strong organisational and project coordination abilities
• High level of attention to detail
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Confident communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
• Experience working with CRM systems would be advantageous
• Proactive, professional and commercially minded approach
