Job Description & How to Apply Below
Business Development Representative (BDR)

Turbo Security is a technology value-added reseller (VAR) and cybersecurity consulting company helping organizations make faster, smarter technology decisions without sacrificing the due diligence required to get them right.

We combine decades of hands-on IT, cybersecurity, security architecture, risk management, and enterprise technology sales experience with a carefully selected ecosystem of technology partners. Rather than simply selling products, we work alongside security and IT teams to understand their challenges, evaluate the market, validate solutions, and help implement technology that fits their actual requirements.

Our capabilities span areas including data security, cloud security, application security, email security, digital risk and brand protection, security operations, infrastructure, risk management, AI, and professional services. Our goal is simple: help organizations make better cybersecurity decisions and get the right technology in place sooner. This approach aligns with Turbo Security's broader focus on research, consulting, product discovery, cybersecurity architecture, strategic sourcing, and implementation.

Role Description We are based in San Francisco and San Diego, so bonus points if you live in one of our primary locations. However, this is a fully remote role. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying prospective clients, conducting outreach via phone, email, and social channels, and nurturing relationships that lead to new business opportunities. The individual will manage inbound and outbound leads, schedule and support client meetings and demos, and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns.

Day-to-day activities include maintaining accurate records in the CRM, following up on marketing-generated interest, and preparing clear summaries and handoffs for sales representatives. The role also involves staying informed about Turbo Security's services and cybersecurity market trends to effectively communicate value to prospective customers.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence speaking with new people by phone, email, video, and Linked In.
  • Curiosity about cybersecurity, technology, AI, and business.
  • A genuine interest in building a career in technology or cybersecurity sales.
  • Competitive drive and motivation to achieve measurable goals.
  • Coachability and willingness to continuously improve.
  • Persistence and the ability to handle rejection without losing momentum.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
  • Creativity in researching accounts and getting the attention of difficult-to-reach prospects.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in joining a growing company where processes are still being built.
  • The ability to learn technical concepts and translate them into understandable business conversations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or previous experience in sales, business development, customer service, recruiting, fundraising, or another communication-heavy role.
  • Exposure to B2B technology, IT, SaaS, cybersecurity, or enterprise software.
  • Experience with CRM and sales technology such as Hub Spot, Apollo, Linked In Sales Navigator, Zoom Info, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using ChatGPT or other generative AI tools for research, writing, analysis, or productivity.
  • Experience with prompt engineering and an understanding of how to structure prompts, context, and workflows to get better results from generative AI.
  • Familiarity with outbound prospecting, cold calling, email sequencing, account research, and lead qualification.
