Software Sales Development Representative

The position is focused entirely on generating and qualifying sales opportunities rather than managing accounts. You’ll identify prospects, engage decision-makers and create a consistent pipeline of well-qualified meetings and demonstrations for experienced sales colleagues to progress.

You’ll be working alongside an experienced and collaborative sales team, including Account Managers and a Business Development Manager. The team is well established and performing strongly, and the role offers scope to develop your software sales career as the company continues to grow.

A high proportion of your time will be spent communicating directly with prospective and existing customers by phone, email, social media and Teams. You’ll plan and deliver outbound campaigns, follow up marketing enquiries, qualify needs, budgets, timescales and decision-makers, and book discovery calls and product demonstrations.

This is a target-driven role for someone who thrives on proactive prospecting and high-quality lead generation. You’ll maintain accurate CRM records, ensure clear handovers to the wider sales team and work towards achievable activity, meeting, opportunity and pipeline targets.

The client seeks candidates with previous experience in sales development, business development, telesales or lead generation. Experience selling software, cloud-based solutions or SaaS would be particularly useful, although attitude, drive and a genuine appetite for outbound sales are equally important.

You’ll need a confident telephone manner, strong questioning and listening skills, and the resilience to handle objections and maintain momentum. As this is a home-based position, you must be self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own day and weekly activity without close supervision.

Previous experience in the medical, healthcare or wider technology sectors may be useful but is not essential; solution-selling experience and the ability to learn a specialist market are more important.

Location:

100% remote, working from home. The company will provide the secure systems equipment. Occasional UK travel may be required for sales meetings, trade shows and events.

Salary:
To £36,000 basic, with an ‘on target’ commission package of +£10,000 OTE.
