Area Business Manager, Indianapolis

The position is for an Area or Senior Area Business Manager focused on promoting Acadia’s FDA-approved Rett syndrome treatment within specific territories in Indiana. Objectives include building healthcare provider relationships, executing territory strategies, and driving sales growth in a complex rare disease market. Responsibilities encompass developing educational tools aligned with compliance standards, engaging with KOLs and care teams, analyzing market data, and supporting patient access initiatives.

The role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams and participation in industry events to stay informed on market trends.

A bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences, with at least 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience for the Area level, including 1 year in rare or specialty disease sales. For Senior level, 8+ years of experience with 5+ years in specialty sales are required. Candidates should demonstrate advanced sales skills, relationship-building with KOLs, and familiarity with rare disease or neurology therapeutics.

Strong organizational, communication, and a proactive attitude are essential. Candidates must reside within the territory, possess a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel extensively, including overnight and air travel.

Focus on rare neurological diseases, including Rett syndrome, with emphasis on specialty pharma sales, patient access, and compliance. The role involves significant travel (up to 80%), remote work, and engagement in local and national events. Competitive salary ranges from $144,000 to $195,000, complemented by bonus, equity, and benefits tailored to US-based employees.
