Sales Development Rep/SDR, Inside Sales, B2B Sales, Sales Representative
At , we help local governments work smarter.
Our mission is simple:
to improve governance through the use of modern technology and services.
Every day, we work with municipalities across Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand to modernise processes, automate manual work, improve transparency and help governments deliver better outcomes for their communities.
We're looking for ambitious, energetic and motivated people to join our growing international sales team.
You don't need years of sales experience. We're far more interested in your attitude, work ethic, resilience and willingness to learn.
If you're competitive, enjoy a challenge, love achieving goals and aren't afraid to pick up the phone, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
This is a fully remote contractor position based in South Africa, working Sunday to Thursday from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm SAST.
This Isn't Just About Making Phone CallsBut let's be clear.
Cold calling is the biggest part of this job.
You’ll spend a significant part of every working day picking up the phone, speaking with people you've never met and creating opportunities that didn’t exist before.
Your primary objective is straightforward:
book qualified product demonstrations with local government decision-makers for our senior sales consultants.
This is a high-activity sales role. You'll be expected to make a consistent volume of outbound calls each day, actively manage your follow-ups and work towards measurable demonstration booking targets.
Some people will be interested. Others won't. Some conversations will go brilliantly, and others will end in seconds.
That’s sales.
We're looking for someone who doesn't take rejection personally, understands that consistency creates results and is motivated by the challenge of turning a cold conversation into a genuine opportunity.
You’ll need to be confident, curious, persuasive and willing to keep improving your approach.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to hide behind emails or wait for leads to come to them.
It's for someone who enjoys the challenge of creating their own success.
If your natural instinct is to think:
"That one didn't work. What can I learn from it, and how do I make the next call better?"
then you’ll probably thrive here.
What You’ll Be Responsible ForAs a Business Development Representative, your primary responsibility is to generate new sales opportunities by booking qualified product demonstrations with prospective municipal clients.
You’ll:
- Make high volumes of outbound cold calls to prospective local government clients.
- Engage decision-makers and relevant stakeholders across Canadian municipalities.
- Introduce Government Frameworks and communicate the value of our software and consulting solutions.
- Generate interest and book qualified product demonstrations for our senior sales consultants.
- Ask effective questions to identify client challenges, priorities and potential opportunities.
- Confidently handle objections and navigate conversations with people who may not initially be interested.
- Follow up consistently with prospects to convert initial conversations into booked demonstrations.
- Research prospective clients and identify appropriate decision-makers.
- Use email, Linked In and other channels to support your outbound calling activities.
- Maintain accurate prospect information, activities and opportunities in Hub Spot CRM.
