Business Development Consultant – B2B Professional Services

Massilva Consulting is a growing HR and people advisory firm helping small and midsize businesses build stronger people operations. We provide fractional HR leadership, HR technology support, employee relations guidance, and practical HR solutions that help businesses grow.

We're looking for an experienced business development professional who enjoys connecting with business owners, building relationships, and identifying new opportunities.

This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for someone who knows how to open doors and start meaningful business conversations. You won't be expected to manage the entire sales cycle independently, our founder will step in for final consultations, proposals, and closing.

• Identify and connect with prospective clients, primarily small and midsize businesses.
• Develop relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers.
• Introduce Massilva's HR consulting and advisory services.
• Conduct initial discovery conversations and identify potential client needs.
• Generate qualified opportunities and coordinate introductions with our founder.
• Maintain visibility into outreach activities, prospects, and opportunities.
• Leverage your preferred prospecting methods, including networking, referrals, Linked In, email, or phone outreach.

• Experience in B2B business development, sales, or client acquisition.
• Background in professional services, HR consulting, staffing, payroll, or related industries preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to independently identify opportunities and engage decision-makers.
• Existing business relationships in Massachusetts or Rhode Island are a plus.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own prospecting approach.

$25–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Additional commission equal to 20% of the first month's collected retainer for each qualifying new client.

Approximately 8–10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.

Initial 90-day engagement, with potential for continuation.

Independent consulting engagement contemplated, subject to applicable worker-classification requirements.
