Insurance Consultant - Outside Sales Representative

Solicit new business and grow the client base through prospecting, cross-selling, referrals, cold calling, and telephone solicitation. Provide personal and professional service to clients.

Primarily work from home, located within Northern/Central Orange County or South/Northeast Los Angeles County.

• Develop new clientele through networking and prospect-list development.
• Explain the features, advantages, and disadvantages of insurance policies.
• Negotiate coverage and premiums with carrier underwriters.
• Meet with clients online and their place of business to explain policy terms, analyze insurance programs, and recommend additions or changes.
• Customize insurance programs to address individual client risks.
• Sell insurance policies, including automobile, property, liability, workers' compensation, professional liability, and umbrella coverage.
• Interview prospective clients to understand their financial resources, insurance needs, property conditions, potential exposures, risk-management needs, and existing coverage.
• Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including completion of required forms.
• Understand and follow company best practices.
• Inspect property to evaluate its general condition, construction type, age, and other risk characteristics.
• Process insurance applications, quotations, ratings, and cost estimates.
• Respond to emails within 48 hours and keep the inbox current, with no more than 50 emails carried over to the next workday.

Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services, including marketing strategy, product demonstrations and sales techniques

• Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
• Agency management system experience, preferably AMS

• Life, Health, Fire & Casualty license
• CIC designation within seven years of employment
• Valid California driver's license
• Compliance with the company driving policy

• General office and computer work
• Travel to client locations as needed
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal communications from clients and coworkers

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Associate's degree required

75k base - OTE $95,000 - $125,000 (with expected first-year commissions)
