A leading food retailer and wholesaler in the North West is seeking a Senior Trading Manager to take full ownership of one of its key ambient grocery categories. • Owning the Buying & Category Strategy for your range in a predominantly brand-led category.
• Developing and launching compelling, competitive ranges that meet customer needs.
• Identifying, onboarding and managing suppliers, strengthening long‑term partnerships.
• Negotiating sharp cost prices, particularly across major FMCG brands, to maximise margin.
• Maintaining accurate contracts, price files and commercial documentation.
• Leading in‑season promotional planning to drive sales, margin and supplier income.

• An experienced Senior Buyer / Senior Trader from the FMCG retail or wholesale food sector, with experience of dealing with the bug branded suppliers in Ambient Grocery.
• Proven end‑to‑end category ownership with a track record of delivering commercial results.
• Strong supplier‑relationship and negotiation skills, with confidence in securing competitive terms.
• A curious, commercially minded operator who stays ahead of market trends and keeps customers at the heart of decision‑making.

• Competitive salary up to six figures (DOE).
