Scientist - Mass Spectrometry

McCrone Associates, Inc., a Chicagoland analytical laboratory, seeks a highly motivated and curious research scientist to perform Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS). A scientist with expertise and experience using TIMS with an emphasis in ion counting techniques at the ultra-trace level is desired. Experience in related fields such as SIMS and MC-ICPMS will be considered, but is not required.

• The ideal candidate will have at least a Masters degree in chemistry, physics, geology or materials science with five (5) years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Comfortable interacting with both executive management and scientific staff.
• Daily operation of TIMS instruments, some instrument maintenance, and shared ancillary duties in the laboratory.
• Experience with sample analysis, data interpretation and reporting using word processing, spreadsheets and databases is mandatory.
• Base Salary Range: $90K-$120K commensurate with education and applicable experience.
• This is a full-time, in-person analytical laboratory position in Westmont, Illinois. Hybrid and/or remote work arrangements are not available for this laboratory-based position.
• This position is eligible for annual, performance-based salary and bonus review.
