Environmental Health & Safety Consultant

Key Responsibilities- Conduct onsite field audits to identify unsafe and non‑compliant situations related to OSHA, DOT, Fire Code, and EPA regulations.
- Provide mitigation and corrective action recommendations during audits.
- Deliver employee training and moderate safety committee meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, auto dealer group management, and state dealer associations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor accident prevention programs, policies, and procedures to achieve zero accident / lost‑time injuries.
- Assist with environmental management compliance systems and prepare compliance documentation (e.g., Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, OSHA 300 logs, EPA , SPCC plans).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Establish customer service relationships with managers and management teams across businesses.
- Complete new hire orientation training to become fully operational as a KPA Risk Management Consultant.
- Demonstrate exceptional industry and regulatory knowledge through onsite field audits, employee training, and regulatory interaction.
- Organize a quarterly visit schedule to maximize travel efficiency based on local and distant client groupings and service frequency.
- Build strong relationships with assigned clients, providing exceptional customer service in support of EHS compliance.
- Support company growth by identifying sales opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Promote productive relationships with dealer group management and State Dealer Association Management.
- Maintain effective internal and external public relations.
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with District Manager, staff colleagues, and other members of KPA management team.
- Maintain relationships with District clients, potential clients, dealer group management, and state dealer associations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Studies, or related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of Environmental Health & Safety experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective report‑writing and clear documentation skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM.
- Must travel day‑to‑day to client sites, including overnight travel.
- Active driver’s license and ability to drive for client visits (typically 4 days per week).
- Physical ability to stand for minimum 6 hours per day and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to remain alert to potential hazards and respond appropriately.
- Must be able to stay overnight in hotels as needed (approx. three weeks per quarter).
- Remote home office based in Dallas, TX with frequent client visits within the Dallas territory, including overnight travel.
- Annual base salary range: $50,000 – $75,000.
- Yearly bonus potential: average $10,000.
- Travel allowances provided.
