Materials Research Institute, PSU University Park Campus is seeking a Part Time Nanofabrication Laboratory Assistant.

Job Summary- Support advanced research activities in the Nanofabrication Laboratory.
- Work up to 25 hours per week on a defined schedule.
- Gain valuable experience and skills in nanofabrication, micromachining, and materials research.
- Fabrication and characterization of micromachined flexoelectric devices.
- Training new post‑doctoral scholars on laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Perform Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) on various substrates using the ALD tools.
- Provide training of new users on ALD tools.
- Create recipes for processes on the ALD tools.
- Assist with ALD‑related maintenance tasks such as pump changes and material changes.
- Manage ALD‑related precursors and monitor gas levels and pressures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the laboratory staff.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of nanofabrication and materials science.
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols.
- Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with MEMS fabrication preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to train others on technical equipment.
The starting rate for this job is $36.50 per hour.
