About the Job
- This is a hybrid role with a requirement to attend County Hall at least one day a week for team collaboration.
- You will be entitled to 30 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays.
- You will assume a senior role within the council’s Cyber Security team. The team operates on a rota basis, covering cyber security functions within the detect, prevent and respond framework.
- This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, covering hours between 08:00 and 18:00.

- Incident response
- Vulnerability management
- Security Incident and Event Management
- Security and Identity maintenance activities
- Forensics and reporting
- Identity and Access Management

- Have previous experience of working within a cyber security field, with strong knowledge and skills in computer networking, operating systems and associated hardware.
- Ideally, you will also hold relevant qualifications in cyber security and computing, such as a degree in a computing field and Microsoft certifications. You will be committed to continuous self‑development and can demonstrate this journey.
- You will be comfortable working under pressure, as part of a high‑profile team delivering critical services with critical outcomes.
- You will be analytical, intuitive, tenacious and have great problem‑solving abilities.

The salary for this role is Somerset Grade 10 – £37,280 – £41,771 per annum.
