Onboarding and Security/Vetting Officer
Permanent role based in London with hybrid remote working.
Works as part of the Group Compliance and Security Team, supporting on‑boarding and off‑boarding of all permanent staff, contractors and associates.
Key Tasks- Onboarding
- Offboarding
- SC and Vetting Management
- Manage the deactivation of Security Clearances on off‑boarding
- Initiate onboarding checks and compatibility with DBS, BPSS, SC etc., ensuring correct timing
- Check documentation, , Right to Work, references and manage DBS checks
- Ensure adherence with GOVS
007 and HMG SPF requirements - Track clearances at all levels, including transfer of clearance between departments or companies
- Gather and store information in the correct systems, update Salesforce with relevant details
- Record and track new and existing clearances against supplier records, request renewals timely
- File and document security‑related documents
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, project and account managers for clearance decisions
- Inform suppliers and clients of clearance status and onboarding progress
- Issue security clearance confirmation letters and administer SC Aftercare, including Changes of Circumstances and Overseas Travel Briefings
- Administer travel briefings to colleagues
- Assist with internal and external auditing support and Non‑conformance, record material and contribute to wider site audits for client and Government audits, including certification support
- Record all security incidents and assist in investigation and reporting
- Maintain secure storage of Company Sensitive and Protectively Marked material, updating Salesforce accordingly
- Deliver security awareness advice to programme teams and senior management
- Contribute to creation of employee security induction material, policies and procedures
- Liaise with the Security Business Partner & Group Security Controller for queries and complex issues
- Respond to any other reasonable requests from management relevant to security matters
- Ability to prioritise workloads, especially urgent clearances
- Flexible attitude, work under pressure
- Impeccable organisational and administration skills with keen attention to detail
- Prioritise incoming tasks and execute in a time‑conscious manner
- Excellent communication skills, articulate in English
- Good understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Work independently and in a team
- Experience with Salesforce
- Interest in Information Security and Vetting
- Knowledge of recruitment administration
This role requires possession of or willingness to go through Security Clearance. Candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details are on the government website If you cannot meet criteria, employment may be delayed or rejected. Details discussed at interview.
