Senior Security Operations Engineer

The Canonical Security Operations team designs, builds, and operates a world class Security Operations Center. This role provides leadership, mentorship, and hands on engineering contributions across security monitoring, threat hunting, response, security engineering, software tooling, and site reliability engineering.

• Provide operational and engineering leadership within the SOC
• Design and evolve Canonical’s Security Operations Center
• Design and develop security software and platforms
• Monitor for, identify, respond to, and remediate security incidents
• Assess and improve Canonical’s security controls
• Mentor junior security operations engineers and contribute to open source security

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience
• Professional cybersecurity experience, preferably in an SOC
• Professional engineering experience
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
• Knowledge of Git, Git Ops, IaC, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Desire to contribute to open source security
