About the role
Location:
Work from home anywhere in Canada.
The Rehabilitation Service Professional Vocational (RSP Voc) assists individuals to access, maintain or return to suitable, gainful and meaningful vocational activities. The RSP Voc determines appropriate vocational goals, identifies the need for vocational rehabilitation or support services, and evaluates the Participant’s current and potential vocational abilities through assessment of physical, cognitive, and psychological abilities to create an objective vocational profile. The RSP Voc collaborates with Rehabilitation Service Specialists and other RSPs to gather evidence to evaluate the Participant’s overall capacity for employment and earning potential.
The RSP Voc completes a comprehensive report summarizing evidence and recommendations relating to the Participant’s overall capacity for work. These assessments guide the Rehabilitation Plan goals and determine eligibility for Veterans Affairs Canada financial benefits programs.
What you’ll do
- Conduct vocational assessments based on participants’ education, training, and experience, considering functional limitations or restrictions.
- Determine the need and type of specialized and ad‑hoc assessments required to evaluate overall employability and present evidence supporting recommendations.
- Consult with RSPs to confirm the presence or absence of a functional impairment impacting overall well‑being.
- Evaluate whether additional evidence through further assessments is required to render an opinion on earning capacity and employability.
- Follow approved processes and program requirements to support completion of analyses and recommendations.
- Complete comprehensive case notes of all consultations and information obtained in assessments.
- Summarize specialized and ad‑hoc assessments in accordance with contract requirements.
- Develop final reports that clearly answer the referral questions with objective evidence to support conclusions and opinion.
- Submit appropriate reports according to established standards and timelines.
- Comply with program requirements for confidentiality.
Qualifications
What you bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Rehabilitation, or a related field.
- One of the following designations:
Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional (CVRP) or CVRP – Fellow (CVRP‑F) with CVRP‑TSA credential, or Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the direct provision of vocational rehabilitation services (or a combination thereof) to participants, including:
- Experience conducting medical, psycho‑social, or vocational rehabilitation assessments.
- Experience working with persons living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers to civilian life.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting assessments and making recommendations based upon critical analysis of information, leading to the development of a comprehensive plan and program of care.
Plus
- Strong computer skills.
- Thorough knowledge of local labour markets.
- Employment conditional on obtaining federal security clearance – Reliability Status.
- A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel.

- Bilingual (French / English).
