Full‑time on‑site position in Cherry Hill, PA. Our small non‑profit adoption agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated adoption social worker to counsel expecting parents and prospective adoptive parents throughout the region. The role involves maintaining a caseload of clients, home‑study evaluations, post‑placement visits, options counseling, and community outreach. Possible evenings and weekends are required for on‑call duties. An opportunity for hybrid/remote work one day a week after three months of employment is available.

Base pay range: $19.00/hr – $21.63/hr salary will be based on your degree and length of employment.

• One year experience in the field of adoption and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or related field with a minimum of one year experience in the human services field.
• Valid driver’s license and available automobile.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and experience with databases and electronic case notes.
• Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and on‑call nights.
• Police, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances required.

• Provide counseling and support for expecting mothers and fathers considering adoption.
• Give pregnant people options including adoption.
• Maintain availability for emergency placement on weekends or evenings.
• Accompany clients to appointments and counsel with their family, if required.
• Assist expecting parents in creating an adoption plan and selecting an adoptive family.
• Coordinate meetings between birth and adoptive parents.
• Obtain all medical records and background information on pregnant individuals and their partners.
• Help both parties formulate an open adoption plan.
• Complete legal paperwork with attorney.
• Accompany clients to court, if applicable.
• Educate and evaluate prospective adoptive parents.
• Conduct and write home‑study reports.
• Conduct group educational classes for prospective adoptive parents.
• Cooperate in pre‑placement meetings between birth and adoptive parents.
• Coordinate placement and discharge of baby from hospital.
• Prepare legal documents for placement.
• Follow up with supervisory visits and prepare reports after placement.
• Assist with agreements with birth parents after finalization.
• Attend court hearing to finalize adoption.
• Handle requests for private adoption assistance from families seeking identified or intermediary adoptions.

• Attend all required meetings.
• Represent Agency at conferences and public events.
• Run agency courses and support groups.
• Review and approve reports of independent contractor adoption social workers.
• Complete monthly outreach and build community connections.
