Family Support Center Program Manager
- The Family Support Center Service Navigator supports the day‑to‑day operations of the MVCS Family Support Center. This position provides direct assistance to families by offering resources, information, and referrals for a wide variety of services and supports.
- The Service Navigator will help plan and implement programs and events, including sibling and parent support groups, family networking events, sensory‑friendly activities, and community partnerships. Responsibilities also include technical support for newsletters, webinars, and social media, as well as direct outreach and support to families on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket (travel required).
- Support the development and implementation of parent networking opportunities, family events, and special programs.
- Collaborate with the FSC Program Manager to maintain strong relationships with community partners, school systems, and other stakeholders.
- Represent MVCS at community and program events to engage and support families and partners.
- Provide technical support for creating newsletters, webinars, and social media content in coordination with the MVCS Development Office.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with families.
- Update program materials and resource guides as needed.
- Support families with applying for DDS services, including providing technical assistance with application submission to the DDS Intake and Eligibility Division.
- Oversee and manage the Sensory Equipment Lending Library, with guidance from the Program Manager.
- Attend DDS area/regional meetings, school meetings, and other community meetings on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket as requested.
- Provide individualized support, information, and referrals to connect families with appropriate resources.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement with prior approval from the Division Director, Program Manager, and CEO, and upon completion of a Flexible Work Agreement.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse populations in a caring and sensitive manner.
- Energetic, creative, self‑motivated, and organized.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support FSC events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation or access to transportation.
- Ability to travel off‑island for training and professional development.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–5 years of related experience or lived experience as a parent/guardian of a child or adult with a disability preferred.
- Additional education or relevant certifications a plus.
