Position: Program Specialist 3 (Peer Support Services) - Snoqualmie

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Develop and deliver peer/mentoring-focused support programs for individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Coach youth and young adults in self-advocacy and planning for reentry
  • Provide information about peer-focused programs and services to various stakeholders
  • Share personal recovery stories to inspire youth and support positive behaviors
  • Collaborate with young people on raising awareness of residents' rights
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Four years of experience in a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in social services
  • Two years of experience in a counseling role
  • Certification as a Peer Support Counselor from the Department of Health, or commitment to achieve certification within the first six months of employment
  • Ability to take action to learn and grow, and meet the needs of others
  • Experience working with communities of color and individuals from the LGBTQ community is beneficial
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience adapting treatment and recovery materials to enhance cultural sensitivity
  • Experience working with individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system
  • Experience developing and delivering peer/mentoring-related training
  • Familiarity with community-based programs and resources for youth
