About the apprenticeship
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Social Care and Housing Support Commissioning Team for a professional, enthusiastic and driven individual. You will be responsible for supporting the monitoring of commissioned care providers and supporting with the day to day operations of an effective and efficient Brokerage Service to ensure vulnerable individuals are supported with an appropriate care package.
Duties- Work closely with Officers to assist with performance reviews and contract compliance of providers of commissioned services.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and report to the relevant personnel.
- Broker and commission timely delivery of care and support packages for vulnerable Adults and Children in line with the department’s domiciliary care contract.
- Maintain active and open dialogue with stakeholders and negotiate the details of care packages, finding creative solutions when needed.
- Complete contractual documentation and input data to ensure robust monitoring information for accurate statistical data.
- Provide direction to service providers with regards to Council Policy and contractual arrangements.
- Provide support to staff making referrals, ensuring procedures are understood and accurately followed.
30 hours per week on a rota basis over 4 days per week.
This post is an agile position, working from home and from the base in Tredegar.
- Educated to a good standard (with GCSE’s grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English)
- Effective interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication
- ICT literate and confident using Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work as part of a busy team and independently when required, showing drive and initiative
- Skills to negotiate to get the best possible outcome for all involved
- Ability to work under pressure, applying a flexible approach to workload and managing time to meet deadline
- Understands and respects the principles of confidentiality
- Has a positive attitude, a keen eye for details, and a commitment to delivering a quality service
