Join the Maine Center of Excellence team as a Trainer and Coach for Family Peer Support, where your lived experience and professional skills can drive meaningful, statewide impact. In this role, you will train, coach, and provide technical assistance to Family Peer Support Specialists and supervisors across Maine, supporting high-quality implementation of the PEARLS Parent Peer Support model. You’ll collaborate closely with providers, state partners, and the COE implementation team while delivering professional development, supporting systems change, and strengthening authentic, family-centered peer practices.
This role offers a flexible, primarily remote work environment with travel across Maine and the opportunity to make a lasting difference for families navigating complex systems of care.
The Maine Center of Excellence (COE) for Innovative Systems and Practice in Behavioral Health is to increase the capacity and quality of specific practices (i.e. HFW, Family Peer Support and Youth Peer Support) provided throughout the State of Maine. As part of this effort, the COE is developing the expertise and capacity to support Family Peer Support Specialists across the State of Maine in their work.
Public Consulting Group serves as the Provider for the COE and is seeking to fill the position of Trainer and Coach for Family Peer Support.
As a Trainer and Coach for Family Peer Support (FPS-LC), you will be responsible for training, coaching and providing technical assistance to assist family peer support specialists and their supervisors in the local provider community. The FPC-LC will train and coach family peer support specialists (FPSs) in the local provider community that provide intentional, authentic support to parents or primary caregivers of children with emotional, physical, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges, to learn and fully implement the PEARLS model of Parent Peer Support, in their work.
Required tasks of this position are as follows:
- Participate in all training and coaching pertaining to PEARLS that is provided by the Innovations Institute, and any other required training as identified by the State of Maine, and/or PCG.
- Complete and maintain PEARLS certification and attend ongoing training within required time frames to maintain certification.
- Complete train-the-trainer process and participate in an annual National Coach Certification renewal.
- Facilitate PEARLS training and ongoing professional development sessions for Family Peer Support Specialists and supervisors in the local provider community.
- Respond to assigned requests for technical assistance and consultation in a timely manner.
- Communicate regularly, in person or virtually, with implementing organizations and the implementation team.
