💰 Salary: £42,839 – £44,075 per annum
About the Role
Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting an Experienced Social Worker to join our Children Looked After (CLA) Team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in care.
The CLA Teams play a vital role in ensuring children experience stability, safety, and positive life chances while in care and as they prepare for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
Hold responsibility for a caseload of Children Looked After, ensuring high-quality care planning and review
Work closely with Fostering Services to identify and support suitable foster placements
Collaborate with the Adoption Team to match children with adoptive families where adoption is the agreed care plan
Chair and contribute to regular care planning meetings alongside partner professionals
Work closely with education colleagues to develop and maintain Personal Education Plans (PEPs)
Support young people to prepare for the transition to adult life, promoting independence and positive outcomes
Maintain clear, timely, and high-quality case recording in line with statutory requirements

Qualified Social Worker status
Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
