Overview
We are looking for an experienced Social Work qualified professional with strong organisational, communication and negotiating skills, able to model excellent leadership and motivate a staff team, to take on the key role of Team Leader in Stirling Council. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and lead a busy frontline Fieldwork C&F Social Work Team, working closely with partners and colleagues across the Council as well as in Health, the Police and elsewhere.
The post is permanent and expects high standards of practice in line with legislation and guidance, Council policy and procedure, and agreed budgets. The Team Leader will deliver sound operational management, leadership and direction to a team of Social Work and Family Support staff to address local need and risk, and promote community wellbeing and safety. The role requires a high level of risk assessment and the ability to manage a range of service user, staff and delivery issues while promoting the service and Council aims and values.
The post also involves driving continuous improvement and innovation, shaping the team to meet future demands locally, and maintaining high-quality customer service in collaboration with Service Managers and other colleagues.
Out of hours consultation is occasionally required as is flexibility re normal working hours. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Applicants must be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults.
