Independent Child Protection Chair - Milton Keynes
Salary: £280 Per Day
Hours:

Office based:
Office based role, however some working at home is possible in-between conferences
Responsibilities:
* Establishing and implementing child protection and looked-after children's policies in line with legislation, guidance, and internal procedures.
* Leading on specialist aspects of the safeguarding process, supported by robust evidence-based decision-making and planning.
* Providing professional consultation, advice, and information to staff, partner agencies, and external organisations regarding child protection processes.
* Ensuring the child's voice is heard and that families actively participate in the process to achieve positive outcomes.
* Promoting partnership working with key agencies to ensure collaboration, information sharing, and integrated planning for the benefit of children.
* Maintaining robust quality assurance and scrutiny systems that improve professional practice and outcomes for children and families.
* Contributing to training, policy development, and projects related to child protection and children in care.
* Covering for the Independent Reviewing Officer as required by the service
Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding frameworks.
* Understanding of looked-after children's policies and procedures.
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in social work, ideally in child protection or safeguarding roles.
* Ability to lead child protection conferences and make evidence-based decisions.
* Strong analytical skills for scrutinizing plans and ensuring compliance.
* Excellent verbal and written communication for engaging with children, families, and professionals.
