Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

About the role:

You will have a strong desire to support the Local Authority’s objectives in ensuring it meets its duties under Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act and importantly, to enable people in our community to live safely, free from abuse and neglect.

You will be adept at assessing risk and thinking outside of the box to mitigate risks and be skilled in the application of the Mental Capacity Act. Your decisions will be well reasoned, defensible and recorded and you will know when to seek support. Possessing professional competence and confidence, you will be able to hold our organisation and others to account.

A wide range of practice experience with adults and young people for transitional safeguarding would be considered relevant and the candidate would be encouraged to continue to develop professional special interests to support the work of the team.

You will be supported by frequent high-quality supervision and peer/leader support daily, alongside development opportunities. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at NPT is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

About you:

  • Knowledge of and working practice of the Wales Safeguarding Procedures (2019).
  • Knowledge of and working practice of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

About us:

We believe in rewarding and recognising our colleagues’ efforts and achievements. We also believe that there’s life at work and life outside of work. We want everyone to be healthy and happy and have the financial resources and support they need.

Choose to work for us and you’ll be rewarded with a range of attractive benefits and support to help you live your best life.

  • Hybrid working (in some roles) and flexible working schemes to improve your work life balance
