Corporate Policy Support Officer (Tackling Poverty)

Contract Type: Fixed Term post until 31/03/2026 (Shared Prosperity Funding)

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

Location of post: Civic Centre, Port Talbot SA13 1PJ

Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

We are currently looking for a Corporate Policy Support Officer (Tackling Poverty) to join our team. Tackling poverty is a key priority for the council and its partners and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of that work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to get the right information and support to those who need help the most, by working with colleagues from across the council, partners and stakeholders.

This work will involve the use of the Low Income Family Tracker (LIFT) system by interrogating the data and identifying groups of people who could be supported.

The main duties of the post are;

  • To lead on the development, implementation and co-ordination of the LIFT system, working across the council, partners and stakeholders.
  • To develop and monitor a LIFT action plan
  • To produce letters, flyers and other media to engage with identified groups.

About you:

You will have experience in data analysis and a good knowledge of current trends, resources and information relating to poverty along with excellent presentation, writing and communication skills.

Ideally you will have;

A degree and good IT skills including the use of word, excel, access, power point, teams and outlook.
