Experienced Social Workers - Children in Need
  • Salary: £40,777 - £42,839 per annum plus a market factor supplement of £2,400
  • Location:
    Greater Manchester, Hybrid

Join our dedicated team at Trafford Children's Services, where our vision is to offer the right help at the right time, improving life for children and families. We are looking for Experienced Social Workers who are confident, brave in their practice, and supported by strong leaders at all levels. With a strengths-based approach, our service is recognized for its effective relational and restorative practices.

Day-to-day

of the role:
  • Work within the First Response Service or our dedicated Child in Need Service, Families First, based on locality.
  • Engage in social work assessments and planning for children in need and their families.
  • Participate in duty on a rota basis, managing a varied workload including section 47 enquiries and child and family assessments.
  • Hold a manageable caseload of children supported through child in need planning.
  • Build relational partnerships to strengthen work and enable the safe step down of plans according to the families' timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years post-qualifying experience in line with PCF (Professional Capabilities Framework).
  • Strong ability to engage with children and families in a supportive and effective manner.
  • Experience in managing varied caseloads including high-risk cases.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems relevant to social work.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing demands.
