Hybrid working arrangement - part office based and part home working  We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Homelessness Assessment Advisor to join a busy Housing team in Hertfordshire on a temporary contract for up to 6 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong homelessness assessment experience and a passion for supporting vulnerable residents in securing sustainable accommodation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct homelessness assessments in line with current Homelessness Regulations and statutory requirements.
Carry out comprehensive assessments of applicants' housing and support needs under the Housing Act.
Develop and agree Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) aimed at preventing homelessness or securing alternative accommodation.
Manage an individual caseload effectively and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all statutory processes and procedures.
Liaise with internal departments, landlords, support agencies, and external partners where required.
Maintain accurate case records using a range of IT systems.  Essential Requirements:
 
NVQ Level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
Previous experience delivering housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
Strong understanding of homelessness legislation and statutory duties.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of customer focus and ability to work with vulnerable individuals.
Confident using multiple IT systems to manage caseloads and improve efficiency
