Job Description3-month contract position with a local authority.
Summary- This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority focused on working directly with children, young people, and their families to foster positive behavioural change, reduce offending, and enhance outcomes. The role emphasizes early intervention, safeguarding, and delivering targeted support through effective engagement, assessment, and collaboration with partners.
- Work directly with children, young people, and families using a strengths-based approach to support positive change.
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and review progress in line with service frameworks.
- Manage a caseload, ensuring appropriate levels of support and risk management.
- Act as a lead professional for allocated cases, coordinating multi‑agency support.
- Deliver structured intervention programs to prevent offending and anti‑social behaviour.
- Support and deliver restorative justice interventions, including working with victims.
- Prepare reports, maintain accurate case records, and update systems in a timely manner.
- Engage with multi‑agency partners, including social care, education, and criminal justice services.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately in line with procedures.
- Attend Youth Court and provide court duty support where required.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience working directly with children, young people, and families.
- Experience managing caseloads and delivering targeted interventions.
- Experience working in safeguarding or high‑risk environments.
- Experience collaborating with multi‑agency partners.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree‑level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Youth Justice, Social Work, Criminology, Psychology) or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Working hours:
37 hours per week. - Flexibility on pay rate ranging from £23.98 to £28.45 per hour (umbrella).
This role offers flexible working options, including:
- Working from home (including hybrid home & office working).
- Working from different Council buildings.
- Working adjusted core hours (e.g., starting later and finishing later or other patterns).
- All flexible working preferences will be considered alongside the individual demands and nature of the role.
