  • Promote a culture of safeguarding through robust quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • Ensure recording and reporting reflects sound social work theory, analysis, and reflective practice.
  • Contribute to the development of management information systems to enhance safeguarding oversight.
  • Advise on safeguarding strategy and policy development across the organisation.
  • Deliver coaching and workshops on safeguarding in residential care settings.
  • Identify and communicate safeguarding concerns effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Registered Social Worker with experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong knowledge of children’s homes regulations and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Analytical thinking and reflective practice to support robust safeguarding assessments.
  • Ability to influence and support colleagues across operational teams.
  • Confident in mentoring and coaching, with a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Organisational and time management skills to manage travel, visits, and documentation effectively.
  • IT literate, with experience using digital systems for recording and reporting.
  • Flexible and resilient, with a commitment to continuous improvement and child‑centred practice.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car, with willingness to travel across the Central region.
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a progressive, child-focused organisation.
  • Work within a supportive and knowledgeable safeguarding team.
  • Influence practice and policy to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Access ongoing professional development and training.
Benefits of joining Compass
  • Cashback for various medical appointments & treatments including optical and dental with Medi Cash.
  • Win up to £150 per month in our REACH awards.
  • Receive £200 (2 years), £400 (5 years) and £600 (10 years) service awards, plus up to £500 special recognition award for outstanding practice.
  • 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days within 4 years, plus all bank holidays.
  • Additional 2.5 days each year for your birthday, a health and wellbeing day and a half day festive shopping day.
