Looking for your next exciting adventure in social work? Look no further! Bromley are seeking highly talented and ambitious registered Senior Practitioners to join us on our journey to excellence.

We are excited to invite individuals interested in applying to the Children and Families Hub to understand the vital role this team plays in supporting children and families in need. The Children and Families Hub acts as a
single gateway for early help and protection
, and we are committed to ensuring that families receive timely and appropriate interventions.

The core function of the Hub involves
screening referrals
to assess both early help requests and safeguarding concerns. Using a range of screening tools, we carefully explore the needs and risks presented in each case, ultimately identifying the most appropriate and effective support for families in need.

The team is made up of a
multi-agency workforce
that includes 4 Team Managers, 12 Social Workers (some with specialisms such as No Recourse to Public Funds and Southwark Judgment), 3 Business Support Officers, and a Business Support Manager. Together, we work to deliver targeted, high-quality interventions for children and families.

Core Partners
  • Police
  • Health
  • Education
  • Youth Justice Service (YJS)
  • IDVA Navigators

These partners provide valuable intelligence that helps inform our final threshold recommendations. Additionally, we have access to virtual partners such as
Probation and ATLAS
, who provide critical insights, particularly in relation to children at risk of extra‑familial harm.

This collaborative, multi-agency approach ensures that every referral is handled with care and expertise, and that the right intervention is provided as quickly as possible.

When you become part of this dynamic and impactful team, you will contribute to ensuring children and families receive high‑quality support.

The Post will work as part of a developing and dynamic multi-agency team assessing front door notifications and referrals regarding children and young people aged 0 - 18.

We are seeking applicants with experience in assessing risk in a multi‑agency context and who can demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience of children and families work. Knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to safeguarding and the sharing of confidential information with partner agencies to protect and support children is essential.

The post holder will contribute to the Social Work perspective and deliver high quality screening, making sound recommendations and decisions commensurate with the role.

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced qualified social work practitioner with an exceptionally high standard of front‑line statutory social work experience, skills and knowledge, who works effectively with colleagues and enjoys collaborative working. The candidate will need to have excellent recording skills and ability to use IT recording systems.

  • Generous Annual Leave Entitlement including an additional three days
  • Two‑week protected induction programme

As part of the Bromley Promise there will be a dedicated two‑week induction programme upon joining us.

The individual will be able to use their ability to form good relationships with families and professionals to bring about positive changes for children and young people.
