What You'll Be Doing

As a Specialist Support Worker, you will be at the heart of our mission. You’ll deliver a high-quality frontline service to survivors of all forms of modern slavery, including sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, forced labour, and other forms of trafficking. You’ll work with individuals at the highest levels of risk, providing practical and emotional support while ensuring their safety and well-being at every step.

Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with a wide range of partners – the Home Office, police, NHS teams, local authorities, housing providers, and legal representatives – ensuring every person in our care receives the comprehensive and coordinated support they deserve.

We need someone who is:
  • Motivated, dynamic, and resilient
  • Brilliant with people and able to build trust quickly
  • Driven by positive outcomes, with a passion for championing client needs
  • Knowledgeable about services that support vulnerable individuals
  • Flexible and solution-focused, especially in challenging situations
  • Experience working within a supported accommodation environment
  • Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent in a related field, or be willing to work towards it
  • An understanding of legislation relating to Health and Safety and the safeguarding of clients and staff
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Conduct risk assessments, devise Person Centred Support Plans and facilitation methods to promote client engagement and successful outcomes
  • Can deliver a client-focused service which undertakes holistic support needs, risk assessments and identifies appropriate support
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work independently and within a team

Your role is vital to The Salvation Army’s commitment to helping survivors regain control, find hope, and build safe, fulfilling lives.
