An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Locum Social Worker to join the CIOC Court team in Blackburn, UK. Earn a competitive £39 per hour while working full-time in a role that offers both office-based and home working arrangements, as required by the service. Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services, rated ‘good’ in its full ILACS Ofsted inspection, requires a dedicated social worker to manage duties related to children looked after subject to care proceedings.
You may also work with children whose long-term permanence plans are still evolving. This role requires a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in safeguarding or court work, SWE registration, and a car driver’s licence. We are seeking a professional capable of managing caseloads efficiently to meet local authority and court deadlines.

- Manage all required duties related to children looked after during care proceedings.
- Execute tasks for children whose care proceedings have concluded but lack a settled permanence plan.
- Work collaboratively with team members while being able to operate independently.
- Ensure adherence to set timelines for both local authority mandates and court directives.
- Utilise the Protocol LCS system if experienced, although expertise is preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in safeguarding or court work, SWE registration, and a valid car driver’s licence.
