About the Role

Social Worker – Children Looked After North & Mid Devon. Devon County Council are looking for experienced and passionate Social Workers to join their Children Looked After teams across North and Mid Devon. This role is based in Barnstaple or Tiverton and offers hybrid arrangements.

• Hybrid working model with a blend of office and home working.
• Minimum 1 office day per week for duty and team meetings.
• Full 37 hour working week.
• 9‑day fortnights may be considered for the right candidate.

North CLA Team – Barnstaple

Mid CLA Team – Tiverton

The successful candidate will be confident managing complex caseloads within a fast‑paced environment and will have experience completing high‑quality assessments, care planning and direct work with children and families. You will build positive and meaningful relationships with children and young people, advocate for their needs and ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes.

• Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
• Completion of ASYE.
• Previous experience within Children’s Services.
• Experience working within multi‑agency and court environments.
• Strong assessment, recording and SMART planning skills.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practice.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
