Adavu CIO, Support Caseworker. Closing Date:

Adavu CIO is looking for a part time Support Caseworker to join our small team supporting adult survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking across the West Midlands.
The role involves providing trauma informed casework, advocacy and practical support to survivors as they rebuild their lives after exploitation. This may include support around housing, benefits, health, safety, financial wellbeing, access to services, community integration and appointments with statutory, voluntary and specialist agencies.
Hours
: 16 hours per week, with potential to increase to 20 hours per week subject to funding and organisational need. Tuesday is a required working day. Remaining hours will be agreed with the successful candidate.
Salary
: £28,304.58 FTE, pro rata for 16 hours per week. Actual salary: £12,076.62. This equates to £14.52 per hour.
Location
:
Adavu office, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, with travel across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Contract
:
Fixed term for 12 months, with possible extension subject to funding.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting vulnerable or marginalised people, strong communication skills, good professional boundaries, and a commitment to survivor centred, trauma informed and anti discriminatory practice.
Applicants should be able to manage or maintain a client caseload, assess needs and risks, develop support plans, keep accurate and confidential records, and work safely with safeguarding concerns.
Experience of modern slavery, human trafficking, domestic abuse, exploitation, homelessness, asylum, migration, advocacy, advice work, community work or related areas would be helpful. We also welcome applications from people with relevant transferable, voluntary, professional or lived experience.
A good standard of education, including Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent, is required. A relevant qualification in social care, advice, advocacy, support work, counselling, youth work, community work, safeguarding or a related field would be helpful but is not essential.
