Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time Housing Assistant based within the Tranent Housing Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator, assisting with a customer focused response for housing applicants, tenants, stakeholders and other professionals seeking services from the housing team. The successful candidate will provide support to the community housing teams to deliver frontline housing services to applicants, tenants and Stakeholders.

They will be responsible for a varied range of duties within the Housing Service.

This role requires proficient use of Microsoft Office and excellent customer service skills. Good communication and numeracy skills are required and you should be able to establish good working relationships with all levels of staff and have proven organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload and use your own initiative. You will have a commitment to delivering a high quality of customer service.

Please Note:

Job Details

To provide an effective and customer focused response for housing applicants, tenants, stakeholders and other professionals seeking services from the Housing Team. In doing so to provide housing options/advice and to arrange where required enhanced housing advice/options interviews.

To provide support to the Community Housing & Housing Options Teams to deliver frontline housing services to applications, tenancies and stakeholders, also to play a role within the team in ensuring the council meets its obligations under the Social Housing Charter.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to “Higher” level, NC or SVQ level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

If not already held, you will be required to undertake a period of study to attain the National Standards in Housing Advice and Information at Level 2.

Level 1 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance to allow access to the Public Sector Network. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
