We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Employability Ambassador in Psychology.

The role of the Student Employability Ambassador is to support the design, creation, delivery and evaluation of career-related activities in the Department of Psychology at the University of Warwick (e.g., Psychology Annual Careers Conference).You will be mentored and line-managed by the Department’s placement officer. You will liaise and coordinate with the Department’s Student Experience Ambassador(s), Psychsoc, and other relevant people in the Department and beyond.

The role is flexible to fit around your studies, with a set amount of available hours for you to claim (4 hours per week on average). You will be responsible for completing the required registration with Unitemps, including Right to Work Check (RTW) before commencing any work. You will be responsible for submitting your weekly hours on Unitemps. The position is available from August 26 to July 27.

To support your professional development and ensure the timely and successful delivery of your responsibilities, the role includes:

  • Regular termly reviews with your line manager
  • A2-month probation periodat the start of the appointment

The probation or reviews are designed to:

  • Provide constructive feedback and mentoring
  • Identify areas for growth
  • Ensure that tasks and activities are progressing on schedule

If concerns arise during probation or reviews, the following steps may be taken:

  • Aformal improvement planwith clear goals and timelines
  • Adjusted responsibilitiesor additional supervision to support progress

If performance remains unsatisfactory despite support, your contract may be ended and the Department of Psychology reserves the right to re-advertise the role.

Essential
  • An undergraduate studentin the Department of Psychology, University of Warwick, in 2026/27
  • A great communicator- able to engage diplomatically, sensitively, and confidentially with peers, senior staff, and external partners
  • A collaborative team player- works effectively with others while also taking initiative independently
  • Emerging leadership skills- able to guide, support, and coordinate with other ambassadors and student representatives
  • Detail-oriented- consistently produces high-quality work with accuracy and care
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills- able to manage time effectively, deliver tasks promptly under pressure, and follow through on responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Accountable and results-focused- takes ownership of responsibilities and is committed to achieving meaningful outcomes
  • Digitally fluent- confident using IT tools and social media platforms to support communication and engagement
  • Professional and reliable- punctual, responsive, and committed to maintaining high standards of conduct
Desirable
  • 2nd and final-year student in 26/27
  • Has taken part in placements, internships, volunteering, or other relevant work experiences
  • Has knowledge of or a willingness to learn project management techniques and methodologies
  • Has experience presenting to different audiences or willingness to build public speaking skills

On campus (Mainly or only remote working outside of term time)
