Practice Team Leader

Location

Ellon, Aberdeenshire (hybrid role with outreach work and working from home).

12-month funded post initially, with commitment to continued funding for Years 2 and 3. Part-time – 14.8 hours per week with flexibility around work pattern.

Action for Children’s Intensive Intervention Service is a voluntary, relationship‑based service supporting children and young people aged 11–18 who may be at risk of, or coerced into, serious offending or criminal exploitation.

We work closely with each young person, offering intensive 1:1 support, group work, and meaningful diversionary activities to build confidence, develop practical skills and make positive choices. Our focus is on re‑engaging them with education, training or employment, and creating opportunities for them to feel safe, valued and hopeful about their future.

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day delivery of the CCE service to ensure high‑quality support.
• Support practitioners to deliver workshops, one‑to‑one work and engagement with young people and families.
• Provide direct support in complex or high‑risk cases and promote young people’s voices.
• Monitor, record, and analyse data to meet reporting requirements and improve practice.
• Build strong partnerships and represent the service in multi‑agency meetings, promoting safeguarding best practice.
• Manage records, scheduling and communication to ensure smooth service operations.

Strong leadership, coordination, and organisational skills.

Effective communication with young people, families and professionals.

Confident facilitating groups and supporting staff performance.

Skilled in evidence gathering, reporting and analysis.

Knowledgeable in safeguarding, risk assessment and professional boundaries.

Flexible, reflective team player committed to young people’s wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification and ongoing professional development.

Availability for flexible working rota, including some evening and weekend work.

Driving licence and access to a car. Ability to travel across a large rural catchment, with reasonable adjustments as required.
