We are seeking experienced and passionate Family Court Advisers (FCA) to join a dedicated team supporting children and families through family court proceedings for our client. As an FCA, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the voice, welfare, and best interests of children remain at the heart of every decision made by the court.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct safeguarding checks and risk assessments within family court proceedings.
  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate complex information relating to child welfare and protection concerns.
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and recommendations.
  • Represent and advocate for the child's wishes, feelings, and best interests.
  • Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families.
  • Provide expert advice to courts on safeguarding and welfare matters.
  • Manage a varied caseload across Public Law and Private Law proceedings.
  • Work effectively with local authorities, legal representatives, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Support the delivery of the Child Focused Court Model (CFC), ensuring children's voices remain central throughout proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case records and utilise case management systems effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential: Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Essential: Registration with Social Work England.
  • Essential: Minimum 3 years post‑qualifying experience working with children and families.
  • Essential: Strong experience in safeguarding, risk assessment, and child protection.
  • Essential: Excellent report‑writing and analytical skills.
  • Essential: Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, legal professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Essential: Strong negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Essential: Excellent case‑management and organisational abilities.
  • Essential: Competent IT skills and experience using electronic case‑management systems.
  • Essential: Ability to remain professional and resilient when managing sensitive, complex, and high‑conflict situations.
  • Desirable: Previous experience within Family Court Advisory, Child Protection, Looked After Children, or Court Teams.
  • Desirable: Experience working within Public Law and/or Private Law proceedings.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the Child Focused Court Model and current family justice legislation.
Benefits
  • Pay Rate £33.50ph.
  • Two days in‑person per month; remote work otherwise.
