Job Description 3-month contract role with a local authoritySummary
- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority, aimed at supporting the SEND Service in managing and reducing the backlog of Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) Annual Reviews. The role is crucial in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining high standards of service delivery for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Coordinate and manage a high volume of EHCP Annual Reviews from initiation to completion.
- Ensure Annual Reviews are conducted within statutory timescales and in accordance with SEND Code of Practice requirements.
- Review documentation and evidence provided by schools, parents, carers, and partner agencies.
- Prepare recommendations and communicate Annual Review outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Work proactively to reduce the Annual Review backlog, prioritising cases based on risk and statutory deadlines.
- Liaise effectively with schools, colleges, health professionals, social care teams, and families to gather information and progress reviews.
- Experience: Significant experience in coordinating and managing EHCP Annual Reviews within a Local Authority SEND team.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEND legislation, the Children and Families Act 2014, and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Education: Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
- Professional Development: Evidence of continued professional development relevant to SEND, education, or local government services.
- Working Hours: 36 hours per week.
- Location: Churchill Court, 2 Westmoreland Road, Bromley, Kent, BR1 1AS
, United Kingdom. - Work Pattern: 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.
