Mobile Settlement Counsellor in York Region

Support refugee claimants as a Mobile Settlement Counsellor with COSTI. Remote position requiring on-site assistance across York Region's emergency shelters and housing locations.

COSTI is seeking a Mobile General Counsellor for full-time work, with 35 weekly hours. You will conduct client assessments, provide supportive counselling, and develop settlement plans for asylum seekers. This role facilitates access to community resources and delivers orientations on settlement processes while requiring regular travel across multiple service sites in Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Markham, East Gwillimbury, and Georgina.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver services across multiple York Region service sites

• Conduct intake assessments for refugee claimants

• Assist clients with information referrals and counselling

• Develop individualized settlement plans with clients

• Maintain thorough documentation and input case data

Requirements:

• Social Service Worker diploma or related education

• Minimum 12 months of case management experience

• Previous work with asylum seekers and refugees

• Reliable transportation for weekly site travel

• Valid First Aid/CPR and Naloxone training certificates
